Zellis User Summit 2023 brought together hundreds of payroll and HR professionals for insights, thought leadership, knowledge sharing, and networking.
The annual user conference was organised in partnership with Zellis Independent User Group (ZiUG), with additional sponsorship from Cornerstone.
CEO John Petter took the stage at Novotel London West, followed by several Zellis executives, customers, and product experts including Asraf Kassam, Chair of ZiUG.
The wider industry was represented by the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP), and by our partner providers of HCM solutions. Wagestream, Benefex, Rotageek, Broadbean, Cornerstone, ZiUG and Eploy all hosted stands in the exhibition area.

John Petter, CEO of Zellis (pictured above), launched proceedings with an address covering company performance, strategic positioning, and high-level vision. He reinforced our commitment to nurturing our customer relationships and continuous improvement in line with valuable customer feedback.
Then, Chief Commercial Officer Tom Canning explored how the Zellis HCM Cloud suite of solutions delivers engaged colleagues, empowered leaders, and efficient organisations, before introducing the insightful customer panel.
Learning from the customers
We welcomed Berkeley Group, Bouygues Construction, and Vistry Group to the stage, along with Caroline Drake, our Chief People Officer.
Led by Abigail Vaughan, Chief Operating Officer at Zellis, the discussion unearthed fascinating nuggets of insight and best practice.
Visions of the future
Delegates also glimpsed the exciting future of HR and payroll technology, from real-time payroll to artificial intelligence (AI).
First came Chief Product and Technology Officer David Woodward (pictured above), who painted a picture of the direction of travel. Then, our Chief Product Officer George Dunnett gave an exclusive preview of exciting new solutions in development. Other members of the product department joined him, sharing the latest product updates.
In-depth breakout sessions
Conference attendees enjoyed a selection of breakout sessions on specialist areas, including Less Work, More Flow: The Zellis Platform and Connectivity, Boosting Financial Wellbeing, and For Your Eyes Only: An Interactive Preview of our Plans for MyView.
Surveying the landscape
The rapidly evolving legislation and compliance landscape keeps HR and payroll people on their toes. Samantha O’Sullivan, Policy Lead at the CIPP (pictured above) gave a rundown of some key regulatory changes. This included the latest on holiday pay.
Later, Nick Clarke, Director of Product Management (Payroll, Legislation & Portal) chaired an in-depth panel with internal experts including Cybill Watkins, Product Legislation Manager. They discussed key developments and their implications for employers and the industry.
