Zellis HCM Cloud 8.1: Enhancements for public sector and Republic of Ireland

Zellis, the UK and Ireland’s largest provider of payroll and HR software, has released new updates to its flagship solution. Zellis HCM Cloud 8.1 is tailored to meet the needs of customers in the public sector and the Republic of Ireland (ROI).

The enhancements include improvements to public sector reporting, pension scheme functionality, and ROI-specific leave management features. These updates come in response to changing regulatory requirements in the UK and Ireland.

Annual education and social care reporting updates

Zellis HCM Cloud 8.1 includes updates to the following public sector returns, enabling them to be made in compliance with new requirements:

• HESA (Higher Educational Statistical Analysis): Improved usability and compliance with 2023/24 (C23025) return requirements.
• ASC-WDS (Adult Social Care – Workforce Data Set): New narrative codes added to align with latest published requirements.
• FEW (Further Education Workforce Data Collection): Annual changes implemented as required by relevant authorities. New exception message in cases of default data use, for user clarity.
• SWC (School Workforce Census): Updated descriptions and replacement values based on the latest specification.

Pension scheme improvements

Recognising the complexity of pension schemes in the public sector and beyond, Zellis has made significant improvements to its pension-related functionalities:

• My Civil Service Pension Scheme (MyCSP): Improved accuracy of the interface file and compliance with the latest Standard Interface Developer Guide v7.1., reducing the need for manual intervention.
• Teachers’ Pension Monthly Contribution Reconciliation (MCR): Enhanced with additional validation and an error alert relating to entry of pensionable overtime.
• Guernsey Secondary Pensions: Expanded quarterly return functionality with the new Secondary Pension and Economic Status. A new task and fields will be available to hold occupational codes. New reported data includes EE/ER pension contributions, worked hours, scheme type, pension provider details, and  occupation codes.

As government bodies and regulatory agencies continue to evolve reporting requirements and introduce new legislation, payroll professionals face increasing complexity.
